Point of Grace has song lyrics that say this:
Heal the would but leave the scar
A reminder of how merciful you are
Think about scars for a minute. They never go away and you never forget how you got them. I’m always a little hesitant to cut Mark’s hair short because then his scar shows. But then I thought about this song.
Mark’s scar does represent for me how merciful God is. God’s provision allowed Mark to recover (even though he has some defecits) and today he is thriving in his first year of middle school! Because of Mark’s injury, God and I have a closer relationship because Jesus came and got me out of the pit of being sad and scared for 2 years after Mark’s injury. God gave me His joy, which is different than just having my own! John 15:11
Some days I’m just so thankful for a typical day! A day not spent at Hershey Medical Center with all the medical language and worry and concern. Those days I just well up and look out ’cause Jean’s thankful! Encouragement cards all around!
How about you? When is the last time you thought about the miracle of your salvation and tears came to your eyes? Any scars that remind you of how merciful God is? Don’t ever forget!
Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Jean
